Blackberry Bark Bites

Yields:
4 dozen round shaped paw imprint treats
4 dozen bone shaped treats
1 batch tiny training treats

Materials

Baked Treat Ingredients

  • ¾ cup peanut butter organic
  • ¼ cup water
  • cup olive oil virgin
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup blackberries
  • cups almond flour
  • ½ cup oat flour
  • ½ cup oat bran

Paw Filling Ingredients

  • ¼ cup peanut butter organic
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil organic

Instructions

Baked Treat Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • Mix all of the ingredients together in a medium mixing bowl.
  • Finish mixing well by kneading thoroughly.
  • Form into a ball of dough and place the ball of dough onto a floured sheet of wax paper.
  • Roll the dough out with a floured rolling pin to about an ¼ of an inch thick.
  • Use any shape cookie cutter to cut into bites.
  • Place on a wax paper lined cookie sheet.
  • Bake for 25 minutes.

Paw Filling Instructions

  • Melt peanut butter and coconut oil together in the microwave.
  • Pour the melted ingredients into a plastic squeeze bottle.
  • Gently fill the openings of the paws with the filling.

Notes

When using peanut butter in dog treats always check to make sure it doesn’t contain xylitol. Xylitol is an artificial sweetener that a few brands use and it can be fatal to dogs. Check out this list for more information on which brands use xylitol in their products.
You can substitute the blackberries with strawberries or blueberries.
Just remember to give your dog blackberries, strawberries, or blueberries in moderation.
