Banana Apple Pupcakes

Ingredients
  

Batter

  • 2 bananas
  • ¼ cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • ½ tsp vanilla
  • ½ tbsp baking powder
  • 1½ cups almond flour
  • 1½ cups rice flour
  • ½ tsp cinnamon Ceylon
  • 2 cups water

Drizzle

  • ½ small jar peanut butter
  • 2 tsp honey local, raw
  • 1 tsp cinnamon Ceylon

Instructions
 

Batter

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • Spray the dog bone muffin tin with cooking spray.
  • In a large bowl, mash bananas with a fork or potato masher.
  • Add remaining ingredients and stir well with a large spoon until blended. (batter will be a little lumpy because of the bananas)
  • Fill dog bone muffin tin completely full with batter.
  • Bake for approximately 7 to 10 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle is removed clean.
  • Thoroughly cool before adding the drizzle.

Drizzle

  • In a small bowl, mix the ingredients together.
  • Heat in the microwave for about 7 seconds. (need a liquidy consistency)
  • Use a spoon to drizzle over the baked, cooled pupcakes.

Notes

When using peanut butter in dog treats always check to make sure it doesn’t contain xylitol. Xylitol is an artificial sweetener that a few brands use and it can be fatal to dogs. Check out this list for more information on which brands use xylitol in their products.
